FAQ

FAQ

Direct answers on integration, resilience, and ownership.

What is a "protocol"?v

A protocol is shared infrastructure, not an application. AlimentaXis defines how signals, actions, and verification events are exchanged across the food system in a consistent, auditable way, similar to how Visa coordinates payments or how GS1 standardizes product identity. We do not optimize for one participant. We enable coordination across many.

Do you replace planning systems (Blue Yonder, RELEX, SAP, Oracle)?v

No. We sit above existing systems as a real-time signal and coordination layer. Planning systems are excellent at internal optimization. What they lack is: - live cross-organization truth - time-aware risk context - verified outcomes across entities AlimentaXis integrates via adapters and webhooks, feeding reality into existing tools, not replacing them.

Are you a food waste app?v

No. Food waste apps operate after the damage occurs, usually downstream and consumer-facing. AlimentaXis operates upstream and mid-cycle, preventing waste by aligning production, logistics, and demand before spoilage happens. Waste reduction is an outcome of better coordination, not the product itself.

Do you expose retailer or partner secrets?v

No. We never ingest or expose: - pricing strategies - margins - customer-level data - commercial tactics The protocol propagates system physics (inventory movement, expiry risk, disruption signals), not business intent. Decisions remain local. Reality is shared.

How do you handle privacy and data ownership?v

Participants own their data. AlimentaXis is a neutral transit layer, not a data-pooling platform. Signals remain encrypted, scoped, and tenant-isolated. We provide coordination intelligence without commercial extraction or data mining.

How do you verify carbon and ESG outcomes?v

Through verified operational events, not estimates. When an action occurs (diversion, donation, reallocation), it is: - cryptographically signed - recorded as an immutable EPCIS event - linked to a carbon methodology This produces audit-ready, traceable CO2e avoidance records, suitable for ESG reporting, compliance, and future carbon markets.

Why start with retailers?v

Retail is where: - expiry risk becomes visible - demand becomes measurable - waste becomes actionable Retail creates the first reliable signal layer. Once that signal exists, upstream coordination (logistics, manufacturing, farming) becomes possible and valuable. Retail is the entry point, not the destination.

What's required to run a pilot?v

Very little. Typical pilot setup: - 1-5 stores - inventory snapshots (API or spreadsheet) - daily aggregated sales signals - no POS replacement - no pricing control changes Pilots run in parallel with existing workflows and can be live in 30-60 days.

How does this integrate with legacy SAP / Oracle systems?v

Via AlimentXis Adapters and the Webhook Engine. We do not replace enterprise systems. We provide the real-time coordination and signal layer they currently lack.

What happens if a farmer's or site's internet goes down?v

The protocol supports asynchronous data ingestion. Signals are queued locally and synchronized once connectivity is restored, preserving the integrity of the intelligence graph without data loss.

Who owns the data?v

The participant. AlimentaXis provides coordination intelligence without data pooling or commercial extraction. Ownership and control remain with each operator.

AlimentaXis does not centralize power - it standardizes coordination.
